The onion hoe is used for hoeing between small onion sets (surprising as that is!) that are tricky to weed around with a fork or trowel.
The length of the hoe shaft is smaller than normal and is easier to control, meaning that it is not restricted to hoeing around onions but manually, around any delicate plant, without compacting the soil.
The head is made using a rescued potato harvester with the working head from an old saw, cut into sections.
The handle is made from in Our ‘Space 2099’ Range in this case a Lime (Tilia europea) mute i.e. the end of the trunk that the roots radiate from; with blue coloured resin around it.
Inspiration for Our Space 2099 Range comes from the latest detailed, colour pictures sent home by the Hubble Telescope (the range is also a tongue-in-cheek take on the 1975 programme Space 1999!)
